Statistical Problem Solving

A FactWise Masterclass

Learn how to read data correctly, ask better questions, and avoid misleading conclusions.

In many organisations, data is too often treated as an afterthought:

  • Data are collected without a clear question

  • Tools are applied without understanding assumptions

  • Results look convincing but fail to solve the problem

  • Actions are taken, but the problem returns

  • Measurement systems are not questioned

The issue is rarely a lack of data.
It is a lack of statistical data literacy: knowing how to read and analyse data to deliver the true insights and correct decisions.

This masterclass equips you with the statistical insight needed to uncover what your data is really saying.

This Masterclass teaches you:

The essential skills for data-driven problem solving in any organisational process. Designed as a clear and eye-opening entry point for those new to statistical data analysis.

When?

October 2026

Where?

Gent and Antwerp

What you will learn

You will learn how to clearly define problems, assess data quality, apply a structured problem-solving approach, and use statistical thinking to validate real improvement.

What we cover

  • Problem framing and operational definitions

  • Data types and measurement awareness

  • Plot the data first

  • Choosing the right type of analysis

  • Applying significance testing
  • Understanding assumptions behind common methods

  • Introduction to process behavior charts
  • Interpreting results responsibly

  • Knowing when data do not support a conclusion

All topics are illustrated with real-world examples from industry, quality- and process improvement.

Format

  • Live, in-person masterclass (or company session)
  • Small group, interactive setting
  • Conceptual clarity over technical detail
  • Discussion, examples, and structured reasoning

Outcome

You will be able to apply the learnings the next day — to improve processes, address quality issues, and make decisions based on data rather than intuition. In short, you will approach problems with greater confidence, structure, and statistical clarity.
